This is the first post of Standardzilla.com in an official capacity and if you are reading this then I will assume you are a) my girlfriend b) my co-worker or c) my mother.

The idea of launching my own blog has been nagging me for a while, but as many people do, I just kept it there in the back of my mind letting other work or ideas take it’s place. I feel now that I do need this creative space, to voice my opinions or to stoke a bit of the creative fire that I cannot get out within the workplace.

I whipped up the design in a few days and promptly knocked off the html only to be hit by one small snag, Wordpress. As a developer I can’t say I have enjoyed the Wordpress experience, but it will remain my current blogging solution and maybe once I get a few posts up I will look into something else.

During this build I have cultivated a pretty healthy and still growing ‘to-do’ list. This site is far from complete for me and needs quite a few tweaks but I think it’s time to just let it into the wild and fix it as I go… as Hoggett once said, “That’ll do pig, that’ll do”.
